Affiliation: University of Campinas, Brazil, graduated in Civil Engineering

Internship duration: January 2016 - March 2016

Supervisor: prof. Ing. Zbyšek Pavlík, Ph.D.

Description: Within the internship, Marina actively took part in the solution of the scientific projects of the department. Nominally she participated in a project targeting development of a novel High-Performance Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Concrete providing resistance against high temperatures and fire. She was working on the experimental investigation of materials properties, especially on the determination of basic physical properties of researched materials as bulk density, matrix density, total open porosity, saturation moisture content, etc. She also measured thermophysical material properties; thermal conductivity, specific heat capacity, thermal diffusivity. Among her experiments, she performed measurements of hygric material properties as well. She was working also on the project focused on the design and development of new types of composites for latent heat storage. She is a co-author of the paper "Preparation of Fine Powdered Composite for Latent Heat Storage" that was published in American lnstitute of Physics Conference Proceedings.
