The proposed project is aimed at the modelling of the effect of freeze-thaw cycles on the
degradation of porous building materials. For that purpose, physical and mathematical model is formulated, which is subsequently implemented into the computational model. At the formulation of the mathematical model the results of experimental analysis are used. Such an analysis is aimed at determination of basic physical, mechanical, thermal and hygric parameters of studied materials. The verification of the computational model is done on the basis of investigation of hygro-thermo-mechanical response of studied materials to cyclic loading by subzero temperatures. The verified computational model allows better understanding of hygro-thermo-mechanical behavior of building materials exposed to the real climatic loads, which can be used for serious and accurate service life analysis of reconstructed or newly build structures as well as for the optimization of material composition of building envelopes in order to enhance their service life period.
