Multifunctional cementless composites with low environmental impact for special construction applications

Info

Provider: GA ČR - mezinárodní projekt ČR-Tchajwan (MOST)
Solution time: 2022-2024
Project No: 22-00987J

The proposed project is focused on the design, material characterization, and optimization of multifunctional composites with low environmental impact. The designed materials will be based on alkali-activated cementless binders available from participants’ local sources, i.e., latent hydraulic and pozzolanic precursors. Optimization of electrical properties to the level ensuring self-heating/self-sensing ability will be secured by electrically conductive admixtures. The initial set of mixtures will be subjected to material characterization involving the consistency of fresh mixtures, basic physical, mechanical, and electrical properties, and computer-aided optimization of the composition will be performed with respect to the observed results. The optimized mixtures will be analyzed from the point of view of microstructure, texture, chemical /mineralogical composition, mechanical, hygric, thermal , and electrical properties, and self-sensing/self-heating ability. Based on these observations, the potential of practical usability of perspective materials will be discussed.
