Project No: 20-00653S

Cement composites exposed to high temperatures change their microstructure, composition
and properties. The proposed project is devoted to the investigation of advanced low-cement
heat resistant composites based on calcium aluminate cement. The research work is aimed at
obtaining materials with high-level utility properties which in comparison with currently used
materials can be characterized by a better resistance to high temperatures and comparable
functional properties. The project introduces innovative methods of solution which are based on
the application of directed-design principles and multicriterial optimization techniques. Contrary
to most other analyses, hygric and thermal properties and volumetric expansion/shrinkage are
included in the investigation program, in addition to mechanical parameters. This extension
allows an in-depth analysis of relations between the changes of functional parameters and the
microstructure and composition of studied materials which would not be possible if just
mechanical properties were utilized.
