High-performance composites containing layered nanomaterials

Info

Provider: GA ČR
Solution time: 2020-2022
Project No: 20-01866S

The project is aimed at the preparation and characterization of high-performance composites
containing different 2D layered nano-additives. The principal feature of investigations to be
performed is their complexity. Graphene-based nanomaterials, such as graphene oxides,
graphite oxides or partially oxidized graphite oxides will be prepared and characterized. These
materials, together with other layered nanomaterials such as alumina nanosheets or
commercial graphene will be added in different ratio to cement and cement-pozzolan-based
materials as their appropriate combination can affect grain boundaries of the composites
constituents and thus final composites properties. Based on composites multilevel design,
detailed testing of their microstructure, morphology, phase composition, physical parameters,
durability, corrosion and high-temperature stability will be conducted. This complex approach
will enable to attain a higher level of understanding the effect of the incorporation of selected
nano-additives on composites performance.
