International cooperation: National Ilan University (Tiawan)

Department of Materials Engineering and Chemistry cooperates with the Department of Civil Engineering, National Ilan University, Taiwan in the field of research focused on the design of geopolymers and alkali-activated aluminosilicates for construction applications.

Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding confirmed by both parties, cooperation on research in the field of materials engineering was initiated with results including:

• joint publications in impact journals and conference proceedings
• submission of a joint international project in the field of basic research, the aim of which is the material characterization of multifunctional cementless composites with reduced impact on the environment for special construction applications
• arrangement of an internship for a Ph.D. student at National Ilan University (internship postponed due to COVID-19 measures)

We look forward to a deepening of cooperation with our Taiwanese colleagues.
