Info about the laboratory
The biological laboratory (D1008) is focused on experiments with living organisms. In the laboratory, mainly terrestrial model organisms, such as plants and small soil invertebrates (testing of building materials and their wastes), and aquatic model organisms - algae, cyanobacteria, aquatic plants, crustaceans (testing of leachates and water-soluble substances and preparations) - are used. The biodegradation of building materials (biofilms, selected groups of fungi and other microorganisms) presents another important topic. Microscopical analyses and experiments on cell or sub-cell levels are performed as well.
