Computer simulation laboratory

Info about the laboratory

The laboratory of computational simulations is located in room D-s160a. The core of the laboratory is formed by a computer cluster that is composed of 14 high performance computers DELL Precision T5600. Each computer is equipped with two Intel Xeon E5 processors (2 × 8 cores) 3.3 GHz and RAM 16 GB (4 × 4 GB). Due to master/slave architecture of the cluster, the computationally demanding tasks can be easily parallelized which substantially speeds up the computing process and thus reduces requirements on time. A remote access to the cluster via high speed LAN network is a matter of course. The whole room is air conditioned, preventing the cluster from overheating which ensures its high efficiency.
