Group characteristics
The research group is engaged in design, preparation, and determination of SMART materials properties. Appropriate modification of the reference materials composition leads to their functional properties enhancement. Cement-based materials and alkali-activated aluminates with electrically conductive admixture are typically in the main interest of the studies. Promising mixtures find their utilization in self-heating, self-sensing, electromagnetic shielding and energy harvesting applications. The group is also involved in utilization of the materials with phase change (PCM) and superabsorbent polymers (SAP) in order to increase building energy performance.
