Lectures
Info about the subject
Subject is taught in winter semester only.
Weekly load: 2 hour lecture/week + 2 hour seminar /week
The main objectives of the BM01 course is to provide basic information about properties of building materials and their structure. Testing methods on the base of the contemporary knowledge and materials engineering approach are provided as well. The laboratory lessons (seminars) involve testing methods designed for building materials from the point of view of physical and mechanical properties, selected methods aimed at a material assessment according to relevant standards (quality control) are involved as well.

Assessment conditions:
- participation at seminars
- attendance level required: 75%
- laboratory lessons attendance is are mandatory
- in the case of laboratory lesson missing - substitution based on the teacher's instructions
- submission (timely) of presentation via Moodle
- successful presentation at the relevant theoretical seminar
- in the case of absence/insufficient presentation quality: the essay of a higher extent might be required to keep the assessment eligibility
- submisstion of laboratory protocols via Moodle
EXAM
